Sydney Opera House

                                                        Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House exists because a few brave people dared to think differently. From conception to completion, the building tested the limits of engineering, construction and design.

Designed by the Danish architect Jørn Utzon, this World Heritage-listed masterpiece represents a breakthrough in modern architecture.

Jørn Oberg Utzon was born in Copenhagen in 1918. He grew up and was educated in Aalborg, an industrial city located in Jutland on the northeast coast of Denmark. In 1937 he entered the school of architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He worked for a short period of time for Hakon Ahlberg, an architect of renowned prestige in Sweden.

Between 1953 and 1960 Utzon won first prize in several competitions in Sweden, mainly for housing projects. Utzon participated in the international design competition for the Sydney Opera House.

In early 1957 Jørn Utzon was announced as the winner of this competition and immediately began work on a model of the building. Utzon worked on the Sydney Opera House from Denmark until 1963 and always in close collaboration with the London-based Danish structural engineer Ove Arup on the geometry of his shells.

The Sydney Opera House is a six-minute walk from Circular Quay, which is regularly served by public buses, trains and ferries to Circular Quay so its really good located if you wanna you public transports.

I find it a really good option if you want to go more often to this place because you have really good advantages .

As a curiosity i will tell you that On 28 June 2007 the Sydney Opera House was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List under the World Heritage Convention, placing it alongside the Taj Mahal, the ancient Pyramids of Egypt and the Great Wall of China as one of the most outstanding places on Earth. I think that is really impresive and something that people from Sidney should be really proud of.

                                                            My opinion

I would like to get know more about this opera house because It's really impresive and interesenting . Since i was litle i knew about this place and i found it very pretty and different to the rest of ones.
If i have the opportunity of visiting it i would love to attend a kind of "theatre play" called La Clique because i saw the trailer and its wonderful what they do . Artists there dance, do magic tricks and things i have never seen before thats why i would choose going there. I would pay 80 dollars which is a lot but i think that is worthy.

                                                       Commonwealth of Nations

The Commonwealth is an association of countries across the world. Its a free association of sovereign states comprising the United Kingdom and a number of its former dependencies who have chosen to maintain ties of friendship and practical cooperation and who acknowledge the British monarch as symbolic head of their association.

I think this a really good moviment in society because , countries here their goals are to achieve prosperity, democracy and peace.

I have chose Ghana , is a country on the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa, famous for its diverse wildlife, ancient forts and secluded beaches such as Busua.
Its climate is tropical monsoon, with a dry season in winter and a rainy season in summer due to the African monsoons.
Although in general terms Ghana can be considered a relatively safe country, without major crime and crime problems, unlike other countries in its environment, some robberies with the use of weapons (machetes and, in some cases, weapons) have recently been recorded. of fire).

The capital city of the country is Acra and the oficial lenguage is English.

                                                             Commonwealth Games

This is an event that imitates the format of the Olympic Games but in which only Commonwealth countries can participate. In total 56 countries historically related in some way to the United Kingdom. They are held every 4 years and their next edition will be in 2026. But there will be a huge cut in the list of sports that will be represented.

I have choose cricket a game played with a ball and bat by two sides of usually 11 players each on a large field centering upon two wickets each defended by a batsman. The country lider in this sport is New Zeeland, India and Australia .

                                                          Ghana Commonwealth Games

Ghana have been a regular force in the Commonwealth Games since 1954 missing only the 1986 Games in Edinburgh. Only their debut Games and the 1982 event in Brisbane failed to deliver medals with Jamaica in 1966 providing the stage for their biggest haul of gold, five. At the 2014 Games in Glasgow they took home two bronze medals, for Judo and Boxing.
